First and only edition of the funeral ceremonies held for Louis I of Spain, at the Cathedral of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. Niccolò Marcello Venuti, a Tuscan archaeologist, was among the first to reveal the discovery of the ancient Roman city of Herculaneum.
Four of the five folding engraved plates of the Church are by the renowned Florentine architect Ferdinando Ruggieri. The last, depicting the catafalque, was designed by Girolamo Tiziati.
Bound in the same volumen is the funeral eulogy by Boccadiferro in memory of the young monarch.
